DISABILITY GRAND PRIX COMES TO WALES: Wales National Velodrome hosted races on Wednesday, May 9 for locomotive amputees on standard bikes, cerebral palsy sufferers riding standard bikes and people who were visually impaired on tandems.

There was a big welcome for all the competitors, particularly the teams from Australia and Ireland.

DUFFRYN COMMUNITY CENTRE: There is bingo on Thursday and Sunday evenings at the centre from 7.15pm-9pm.

Disabled parking is available.

TREDEGAR PARK NEIGHBOURHOOD MEETING: The next meeting is on Monday, June 4, 6.30pm, at Duffryn Community Centre.

DRATA: The next meting is on Monday, June 11, 7pm, at the Community Centre. We are there to help anyone with problems.

SUMMER STRAWBERRY FUN DAY: The Fun Day is Friday, July 20, in the grounds of Duffryn infants' and junior schools.

This will begin as soon as lunches are complete. The school is still looking for helpers and hopes to have the parents involved.

WASTESAVERS NIGHT: Residents of Woodside and Nightingale visited the Wastesavers depot, in Stephenson Street, to tour the building to see what happens to waste from recycling bins.

The trip was funded by Councillor, Trevor Watkins, It was very interesting to see how the facility operated and how hard the employees work with the volume of materials that are handled.
