A NEWPORT-based digital marketing firm is among six Welsh companies showing off what the country has to offer in New York.

Representatives from Coup Media, which was founded by Newport entrepreneur Paul Shepherd, have travelled to the Big Apple as part of a Welsh Government-led mission encouraging international trade.

As part of the six-day event, which runs until Saturday, March 26, business leaders will meet with American companies and potential investors and attend a reception hosted by the British Consulate General.

Wales’ economy minister Edwina Hart said trade with the USA is worth more than £2.7bn to the Welsh economy every year – more than any other nation.

“As the world’s premier economic power-house, engaging with businesses there is essential for Wales and this trade mission aims to do just that,” she said.

“As a pro-business government we recognise the importance of international trade and our overseas missions are tailored to help businesses make the most of all the opportunities presented.”

The event is one of 27 overseas events and exhibitions held by the Welsh Government during the current financial year.
