THE director of Newport Citizen Advice Bureau, Den Foley, has received an award for his 25 years service to the community.
A celebratory event was held at the bureau on Thursday, in which the mayor of Newport Cllr Herbie Thomas presented a long service award to Mr Foley for his services to the community.
Mr Foley started working for the bureau on March 18 1991.
A spokeswoman for the Newport CAB said: "Den has worked with dedication and commitment to ensure we provide a quality service, fighting for funding in order to meet the needs of our local community, and is supported by a dedicated staff and volunteer network, trustees and local government. Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate the day with us - staff and volunteers, the mayor and mayoress of Newport, trustee board members, MP and our local Welsh Assembly members.
"Special thanks to the organising team Vicki, Helen, Sian and Chris."
Also in attendance were Jessica Morden MP for Newport East, John Griffiths AM for Newport East and Dame Rosemary Butler AM presiding officer for the Welsh Assembly.
