Armed police called to Chepstow Road after 'threats to kill'
ARMED police were called in Newport last night after a man allegedly threatened to kill someone.
Police were called to the scene at Chepstow Road after reports of disorder at 3.45am.
A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and is in police custody. No injuries were sustained.
A spokeswoman for Gwent Police said: “I can confirm our armed response unit were called for precautionary measures.”
