DISCOUNT supermarket chain Aldi’s Cwmbran store has reopened following a month-long closure for refurbishment.
The German retailer temporarily closed its Woodside Road store temporarily closed last month, but held a ribbon cutting ceremony to declare the shop open for business once more for business.
Richard Maitland, store manager for Cwmbran, cut the ribbon and said: “The team and I were pleased to re-open the store, and it was great to see both new and existing customers enjoying the offers available.”
The renovation included making the branch more energy efficient as well as re-lining the car park, which has space for 97 vehicles.
Since its arrival in the UK in 1990, Aldi has grown to become the sixth largest supermarket in the country, winning a host of awards in that time including ‘Supermarket of the Year’ in September.
The newly renovated Cwmbran store is one of 32 Aldi branches in Wales and is open from 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
