The family of 26 year old Alex Chamberlain have provided the following tribute:

“Alex was a loving son, father, brother and grandson.

He was a happy go lucky man, respected, trustworthy and loyal.

He enjoyed life to the fullest and always had a smile on his face, never a dull moment.

He was always there for others and is going to be remembered forever, never forgotten!

Forever in our hearts…we all love you.”

FRIENDS of Alex Chamberlain, the 26-year-old man from Argoed who died in the crash on the A467, have paid tribute to him.

Mr Chamberlain died following a three vehicle crash in Rogerstone yesterday morning.

"R.I.P Alex can't believe that you've gone you'll never be forgotten and don't worry you'll be mentioned in my speech on the wedding day and you will not be replaced as one of my ushers you was one of a kind couldn't replace you," said Nigel Collins via Facebook.

"We'll meet again one day see you again mate take care up there and all I can imagine is your snapchat story with the chicken emoji and you chasing it."

Jemma Phillips said on Facebook: "My head can't process this. So very sad.

"A genuinely lovely boy with a massive heart . There are a lot of people Al who will miss that infectious smile and cheeky nature. Rip xxx"

The crash, which happened at 9.05am on Monday, May 16 involved a 40 tonne Scania heavy good vehicle and a Scania Tipper lorry.

"You will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure to meet you," said Daniel Webster over Facebook. 

"Them few years in school were made easier by friends like you, rest in peace my friend and sleep well loved but not forgotten."

Leah-marie Hogan added on Facebook: "No gentler giant then you ❤️.

"My thoughts are with your loved ones, it's not goodbye but see you soon x."

Gwent Police are currently investigating the circumstances behind the incident, and are requesting that anyone with information or witnessed the crash, should call 101, quoting log 89 16/5/16.

THE man who died in the crash on the A467 in Rogerstone yesterday morning has been named as Alex Chamberlain.

Mr Chamberlain, 26, from Argoed, was driving a Vauxhall Combo van, which was involved in the crash with a Scania 40 tonne heavy good vehicle and a Scania Tipper lorry, which happened at 9.05am on Monday (May 16).

He was taken to the University Hospital of Wales but died shortly afterwards. His family are receiving support from specifically trained officers.
