A South Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the fire was 'deliberate.' The fire was at a vacant furniture showroom and workshop on Langland Way adjacent to Carcraft.
Fire crews extinguished 60 tonnes of refuse and wood items earlier this morning and allowed the remainder to burn.
The spokesman said crews re-inspected the site at around 9.57am. Controlled burning will be carried out on the site for the next 24 hours.
No further inspection is required by the the SWFRS.

FIREFIGHTERS were called to Lliswerry in the early hours of this morning as 80 to 100 tonnes of wood items were on fire.
A South Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said they were called at 1.06am to reports of smoke visible on Orb Drive in Lliswerry.
The fire was opposite Morrisons to the rear of Carcraft.
Maindee crews fought the blaze for over an hour putting out 80-100 tonnes of wood items which were on fire.
The spokeswoman said the site will be re-inspected this morning.
