TRAFFIC is heavy on the M4 eastbound in Monmouthshire this morning after a lorry hit the central reservation.
One lane is closed on the M4 eastbound between junction 23a for Magor services and junction 23 for the M48.
Emergency repairs are being carried out on the central reservation barrier.
UPDATE 7.32am: Traffic is still very slow because of the earlier accident.
Lane three is closed both ways to get the barrier repaired.
Initial reports suggested the accident happened in the two-lane section, but it is now clear it happened in the three-lane part of the road.
There is congestion up to junction 24.
UPDATE 9.17am: Westbound is coping fine but there are delays on the M4 eastbound.
