NEWPORT City Dogs Home cares for more than 500 dogs a year, and if they are not claimed by their owners, the dogs are offered for adoption.
The Argus has teamed up with the dogs home and will be regularly featuring a ‘Dog of the Week’ to help them find homes.
Our dog of the week this week is Tara.
Tara is a seven year old cocker spaniel, and she's as fit as a butcher's dog.
She is friendly, affectionate, extremely well socialised, and completely obsessed with balls.
She is microchipped, but the staff at the home haven't been unable to contact her owners as the microchip contact details are out of date and if her owners don't come forward to claim her, she will be available for adoption from October 19.
Either way, no need to unpack your suitcase Tara - we don't think you'll be waiting long to meet your forever family.
If you have a cricketer's throwing arm, a plentiful supply of tennis balls, and a space on your sofa for Tara, please contact the staff at the home. on 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm or 2pm - 4pm, or pop in for a visit. No appointment needed.
