NEWPORT gastropub and restaurant The Ridgeway bar and kitchen is launching a new superb cocktail bar menu crafted by their new champion cocktail consultant.

Christos Kyriakidis has joined the team hot on the heels of The Ridgeway being announcement as having one of the top three Sunday roasts in Wales in the 2016 Observer Food Awards.

The Ridgeway Bar and Kitchen are now looking to enhance their drinks menu with a creative cocktail list Mr Kyriakidis - one of the UK's top mixologists.

He has more than 17 years of experience in hospitality, being a finalist in and having won numerous national and international cocktail competitions including South Wales Bartender of the Year.

David Pell, owner of The Ridgway said: “We are very excited to be taking this next step on the Ridgeway’s journey.

"It has always been our ambition to create a beacon of quality in the area, a multi-faceted venue where people can come to enjoy fantastic food and drink in relaxed surroundings with a welcoming and professional team.

"Christos is a very well-known face in South Wales and we are very excited to have him join us, bringing his wealth of knowledge, experience and reputation.

"It will be fantastic to develop and train our team from within in this art-form with a range of signature and bespoke cocktail recipes."

Mr Kyriakidis said: “I can’t wait to get involved with the team here, they are so passionate about everything they do and to work with such a talented group of people is something I’m really looking forward to.

"It’s a great opportunity for this venue to put its own stamp on cocktails and make its mark in the area.

"We’ve got lots of other marvellous areas we are working on together to introduce to The Ridgeway’s customers and we’ll be announcing and launching these shortly."
