Fire at Lahore restaurant on Ebenezer Terrace in Newport

One lane closed on the A4042 Usk Way between the Emlyn Street junction and the Skinner Street junction, because of the fire.

Argus reporter Alice Rose is at the scene. She adds that fire investigators are still inside along with police.

The fire is at the Lahore restaurant.

FIREFIGHTERS are tackling a blaze at a restaurant on Ebenezer Terrace in Newport this morning.

The ground floor of the restaurant is reported to be heavily smoke logged, although the fire has now been put out.

Three fire engines are attending the scene after receivign the call at 8.52am.
