DESCRIBED as a “confident and caring girl”, Georgina Symonds was 25 years old when she was killed by Peter Morgan.

She was born to Deborah and Andrew Symonds and has three brothers; Alex, Dean and Lee.

A former pupil of Bassaleg School, Miss Symonds - described by her mother in court as "lovely, fun, happy girl" - has a daughter, aged six.

More stories on the Usk murder trial:

At 18, Mrs Symonds told the court, her daughter had breast enhancement surgery, and the year before she was killed, Morgan had paid around £8,000 for her to have a "full body liposuction" procedure.

Mrs Symonds said her daughter began dating her former partner and the father of her daughter - who killed himself in November 2015 - when she was 18 and they had lived together subsequently, though the relationship was not always a happy one.

Miss Symonds had worked as a beautician and a dancer, "pole and burlesque."

She had first met Peter Morgan in 2012 when she was working as an escort, and began a relationship with him.

"She loved the finer things in life," said Mrs Symonds.

From January 2015, Miss Symonds was paid £7,000 per month by Morgan for her to only see him and a small number of other clients.

Deborah Symonds said her daughter had been "grief-stricken" when her father killed himself in April 2015.

Georgina Symonds moved into Pencoed Castle Bungalow in August 2015, where she lived rent-free with her daughter.

Mrs Symonds told the court that her former partner had been the love of her daughter's life, and after he killed himself, "Georgina was in a terrible place" and she wanted nothing more to do with Morgan.

"She was really awful to him," said Mrs Symonds.

She said her daughter had told her that she needed to take cocaine to help get over the death of her former partner, as she had to get over her father's death.

In January 2016, Miss Symonds was killed by Morgan at her bungalow, and her body was dumped in an outbuilding at Beech Hill Farm in Usk.

After her death, many tributes were paid to her, and she was described by her best friend Alexy Butcher last January as “one of a kind."

She told the court she had known Miss Symonds, who was "two or three years older" than her, for about five years.

She described to the court how Miss Symonds had begun to work as an escort after her daughter was born.

She told the police after Morgan killed her that he had been "totally smitten" but that Miss Symonds "was only with him for the money."

Of the fate of her friend, Ms Butcher said: “She was a stunning girl. She didn’t deserve this.

“She was so funny. She could make someone so down rethink their lives and be happy.

“Her sense of humour was out of this world. Everyone loved her. She’s confident but caring.

“She thought the world of her daughter, she was a fantastic mum.”
