A MONMOUTHSHIRE Wetherspoon pub and hotel has had to temporarily close its doors because of safety reasons.
The grade II listed Kings Head Hotel in Agincourt Square in Monmouth closed after a structural survey at the site which has shown that the wall between the customer area and the kitchen is collapsing and will have to be taken down.
The JD Wetherspoon pub and hotel are expected to reopen in three weeks time, but at the moment no official date has been set.
All pub staff have been redeployed to other Wetherspoon pubs in the region or have taken holiday time.
Pub manager Chris Jenkins said: “It is disappointing to close the pub and hotel, however work needs to be carried out in order to make it safe for our staff and customers.
“We will aim to have the pub and hotel open in three weeks time, however, we can’t confirm an opening date at present as the work might take longer than we expect.
