GWENT Police are looking to identify the woman pictured as they believe she may have "key information" in relation to the crash on Newport bridge on Thursday, March 23.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said: "Officers are looking to identify the woman shown in this photo as they believe she may have key information that could help with their enquiries.
"At approximately 1.26pm, the woman walked from the direction of the Cenotaph, Clarence Place and crossed the road, using the pedestrian crossing just prior to the town bridge, crossing from Rodney Parade side towards the Iceland Store.
"If you are this woman, or if you believe you may know who she is, please call 101 and quote Log 238 of 23/3/17."
Gwent Police officers, and paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance and Wales Air Ambulance service, were called to Clarence Place at 1.30pm on Thursday, after an incident involving the pedestrian and a car.
The female pedestrian is currently in hospital after sustaining “life-threatening injuries” in the crash.
The bridge was closed for around four-and-a-half hours as a result of the incident.
