A CHILDREN’S opera which saw more than 90 children from across Newport taking part has been branded a success.
Pupils from 16 different schools got involved in the production of Noye’s Fludde, a one-act opera by the British composer Benjamin Britten. It was performed at St Woolos Cathedral on Friday, June 16 and Saturday, June 17.
Emma Gibbins, director of music for St Woolos Cathedral, said: “The performances went really well and both nights were sold out, which was amazing. This was a large scale community music-making project which brought people, young and old, from all over South East Wales together to perform and share their love of music.”
