Popular retail destination Cwmbran Shopping has a new name and brand following an investment of thousands of pounds by its owners.

M&G Real Estate, which owns the retail scheme, has rebadged it as Cwmbran Centre and invested thousands in a facelift which will see the logo and all its branding changed to better reflect its setting.

The commitment will see all the signage around the centre changed over the coming weeks to a new vibrant look inspired by the South Wales landscape.

The new brand draws on the topography of the South Wales valleys with the silhouette of hills indicated by waves that provide the backing to the new logo, inferring the hill of Twmbarlwm in the distance near Cwmbran.

The brand itself will retain the bright colours of the previous logo but introduce a sleeker and more modern font and a stand-out ‘C’ as its identifying mark.

The move to Cwmbran Centre also reinforces the shopping centre’s position as the ‘centre’ of the town and the meeting place for the community.

The wider roll out of the brand will see the introduction of the word ‘your’ across its materials, including the website - ‘your Cwmbran’, ‘your centre’ - acknowledging the pride that people from the Cwmbran area have in their town and integrating the community in the identity of the place itself.

Rupert Milne, asset manager for M&G Real Estate, said: “As long term investors, we wanted to reconsider the shopping centre’s brand and better link it with the town; making the most of the distinguishing factors that make Cwmbran special and unique. We feel the new branding will inject new energy into the centre – reinforcing it as the centre of the Cwmbran community.”

The digital rebrand will take place on Monday, July 3, with physical signage to be updated over subsequent weeks. Cwmbran Centre boasts some of the UK’s favourite high street names including M&S, House of Fraser, Jack & Jones, TopShop, New Look, River Island and Pandora.
