A LARGE terrapin has made an appearance on the green at a golf club.
Terri the Red-Eared Terrapin lives at the St Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club in Chepstow.
Stewart Wood, head greenkeeper at the hotel, said: "Terri has been around for quite a while, we think she was released by one of our junior members over 20 years ago.
"She comes out and basks in the sun, with a particular favourite sunny spot of the 18th tee on the Old Course."
Mr Wood has worked on the golf course for 31 years.
He added: "We have been aware of Terri for many years and she is very much a part of the Marriott family."
"Sightings of Terri by members and guests are as welcome as the sightings of the clutch of new cygnets in the spring."
The hotel posted about Terri on their Facebook page, and she now has more than 190 likes and reached over 13,000 people."
The hotel's Facebook post said: "Terry is a semiaquatic turtle, and the species gain their name from the small red stripe around their ears - if you zoom in, you can see them.
"We've heard of slow play on the Old Course, but this takes the biscuit."
