DANCING styles from across the world and from different time periods were on display at the Blaenavon Workmen’s Hall on Saturday at a special festival.
The Dancing on the Mountain – Dawns ar y Mymydd – festival took place on July 22 led by the traditional dance group from the Torfaen town – Dawnswyr Blaenafon.
In its third year, worldwide genres from Appalachian to Welsh and styles including Flamenco, Line and Break Dancing were among the dances on display this year.
The performers ranged in age and while a number of the dancers came from the Blaenavon area, many travelled from further afield for the event.
The aim of the event, according to the event organisers, is to show the enjoyable side of dancing to those in attendance of the free event.
Musical performers accompanied the dancing with traditional songs from that particular genre, using a range of different instruments from around the world.
