YOU won't brie-lieve that a cheese cafe is opening in the centre of Newport.
A brand new cheese cafe - Holy Cheesus - is set to open its doors on Clytha Park Road this year.
Owner Vernon Tessio, who lives on Caerleon road, said: "The humble toastie, grilled cheese, call it what you like has become a nostalgic dose of my childhood days and I just love cooking them up.
"I've been experimenting with the fillings with some positive results and some downright failures. This love of crafting the best grilled cheese sandwich, encouragement from friends and family eventually led me on to a business idea
"There are some fantastic places to eat in Newport, with independent bars, shops, restaurants popping up all the time so why not add a grilled cheese shop to the list?"
The 34-year-old added: "Our aim will be to source all our ingredients locally with the emphasis on quality produce. We will be embracing a handmade ehtos.
"We are still finalising our launch menu but there will be some experimental specials each week in addition to our regular classics. We hope to add more to our menu as the place grows."
