HUNDREDS of people turned up to enjoy the Bettws Big Picnic event today.
The event - which was originally postponed due to bad weather - took place in Lambourne Way by the social club.
Visitors were encouraged to bring their own picnics along and there were a variety of stalls.
The emergency services were also there giving demonstrations and a bouncy castle for children.
Cllr Kevin Whitehead, who represented the Bettws ward and was one of the organisers for the event, said he believes around 800 people attended throughout the day.
He said: “It’s amazing thinking about how many people came along. I love Bettws and I am proud of the community coming together.
“Everyone came together and it was a fantastic day. I am so proud of Bettws, I really am.
“We had so much support and we had a massive conga to finish.”
It was the third annual Bettws Big Picnic and this year it raised £500 for Newport Mind.
