POLICE are appealing for information after thousands of pounds worth of phones were stolen in a ram raid at a Newport supermarket.
At around 3.40am on Monday, September 11, three offenders used a car to smash through the front glass of the o2 Phone Shop on the ground floor of Tesco Extra.
Gwent Police confirm that the ram raid – at Spytty Retail Park – saw thousands of pounds worth of iPhones stolen.
A police spokeswoman said: “Officers are asking the public to remain vigilant and to please report if any low-priced brand-new iPhones are being offered for sale”.
The car used in the ram raid was reportedly a five-door Vauxhall Insignia.
