A MAN has been taken to hospital after coming off a motorbike.
The accident, involving a 52-year-old man, happened at 11.10am in Usk Road, Caerleon, this morning.
Some Residents said that traffic was building after the road was closed.
Helen Williams said: "There's traffic because of the crash.
"The crash involved a motorcyclist."
A spokeswoman from the South Wales Ambulance Service confirmed the crash.
He said: "I can confirm that we've received a 999 call at the location.
"We're currently at the scene."
A spokeswoman from Gwent Police added: "At approximately 11.10am we received a report that a man had come off his motorcycle on the Usk Road near Caerleon.
"A 52-year-old man has been taken to hospital by ambulance.
"The road was closed but has since reopened."
