A FORMER cordon bleu chef is in the running for a major award after developing a ‘recipe for success’ in providing care for people in their own homes.

Miriam Warner launched her own agency, Miracle Workers, from her dining room table more than 20 years ago.

The grandmother-of-eight, from Raglan, originally trained at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu cookery school in London in her 20s.

She originally set herself the goal of acquiring 10 clients and juggled her time looking after her older and retired husband.

Now, Miracle Workers provides live-in care services for 200 people across the UK

Mrs Warner’s sensitive and compassionate approach to her business, which provides dementia and end of life care, has now seen her shortlisted for one of the industry’s highest accolades.

The widow, chairwoman of the Abergavenny-based company she founded, has been nominated for both the Excellence in Dementia Care and the Excellence in Palliative and End of Life Care gongs at this year’s Wales Care Awards.
