A MAN has been given a fixed penalty fine for wasting police after reporting to the police a handgun had been seen.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "At around 7.30pm last night, we received a report that a handgun had been sighted in the Honeyfield Road area of Ebbw Vale.
"Officers attended and a cordon was put in place as a precaution. Following our investigation, it was found that the report was false and a 20 year old man was given a fixed penalty fine for wasting police time."
