A MAN has died after a crash on Usk Road between Mamhilad and Pontypool.
The road has been shut at the Little Mill junction to the Horse and Jockey roundabout.
Traffic is still moving in the direction of Abergavenny but the road is closed towards Pontypool.
Emergency services received a report of the collision at around 12.15pm today, along the A4042 between Mamhilad and Pontypool.
A spokeswoman for Gwent Police said: "Officers attended and found a vehicle which had left the carriageway. The male driver of the vehicle was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
"Officers are now investigating and are appealing for information regarding the circumstances of the incident.
"Officers are requesting dashcam footage from anyone who has travelled along the A4042 between Mamhilad and the Horse and Jockey roundabout towards Pontypool in the last 24 hours.
"If you can help, please email SCIU@gwent.pnn.police.uk as you may hold vital evidence to help with our investigations."
