EVERYBODY loves a wedding, and the region is getting ready for one of the biggest events of the year.

Prince Harry will marry Meghan Markle on Saturday, May 19. Coverage of the event streamed live from Windsor Castle.

Not everyone got an invite to the big day, but you can attend some special events that are happening across the region.

The party starts on Friday with a number of schools hosting events to celebrate the royal wedding.

- More than 500 pupils at New Inn Primary School are taking part in a fancy dress run of the equivalent distance from New Inn to Windsor Castle. The youngest pupils in Nursery, will be taking part in a Royal Bounce at the same time. The money raised will fund the outdoor classroom

- The Garndiffaith Community Centre (Millennium Hall) will be having a party from 4pm for children to attend.

On Saturday, the big day, there are a number of events taking place around the region.

- Caldicot will have a right royal knees up thanks to the Caldicot Town Team, The event starts at 11.30am in the town centre, just bring your own food and watch the wedding in front of the screen. Find out more at facebook.com/CaldicotTownTeam.
