A TEENAGER took part in a charity walk on Sunday to raise money for a charity that helps families with children in hospital.
Macie Dawkins from Abercarn is the current Young European Teen Miss International.
The pageant winner took part in a sponsored walk on May 20 through Heath Park in Cardiff for the Ronald McDonald House.
Miss Dawkins said: "The walk was brilliant we were so happy with the amount of people who showed up to support and we were really lucky to have such beautiful weather.
"We all had so much fun, and to think that something so easy to complete raised so much money and awareness of the charity just makes it even better. "
The 18-year-old met some of the children who the charity has helped after the walk.
She added: "The highlight of the day was getting to do a tour of the family rooms with everyone from the walk and getting to meet some of the children .
"They loved my crown and it was nice to be able to put a smile on their face. The families were lovely and really enjoyed being able to have a break in the sunshine.
"It really was an eye opener of how amazing the charity is. "
The Ronald McDonald House in Cardiff provides free 'home away from home' accommodation for families with children in hospital.
