CHILDREN from three city schools got to visit the House of Lords yesterday as part of a national celebration.
Six members of the Heddlu Bach (Mini Police) from from Millbrook Primary, Ringland Primary and Pill Primary in Newport travelled to London yesterday with teachers and superintendent Mike Richards from Gwent Police.
He said: “They had a fantastic day.
“It was a celebration of the voluntary police cadets from all over the UK.
"Our Heddlu Bach were invited as we are only seven police forces that have a mini police."
Kaideen Saunders, 10 from Ringland Primary School said: "It was a fantastic day and I would love to do it again."
Fellow mini officer Cherish Watson,9, from Millbrook Primary School added: "It was a fantastic experience and once a life time opportunity."
The Heddlu Bach were given a tour off House of Lords and sat in the chamber and watched a debate take place.
They also met VIP guests and listened to some presentations.
Supt Richards added: "They were the stars of the show.
"They posed for selfies in their uniforms as people kept asking them for photographs."
