MIDNIGHT Skyracer's performance on June 28 defies description, other than “you had to be there.”

Five talented Bluegrass musicians performed original material on a bewildering ray of instruments, with musicianship of the highest order. The band have brilliantly taken the best of the Bluegrass Tradition as a bedrock for their own individual and collective songwriting style.

The jam-packed house was treated to a performance showcasing their new album, Fire, which featured a variety of wonderful songs ranging from the whimsical Virginia Rose to the more traditionally Bluegrass Working Girl Blues.

The quality of music had audience members shake their head in disbelief, with many staying after the show to discuss and attempt to process. There is no doubt this band is destined for the heights.

It was a brilliant evening, that I doubt I will ever forget, at a venue where a warm welcome always awaits.
