A MASKED man made off with cash after robbing a Tesco Express supermarket on Cwmbran's Ty Gwyn Road this morning (July 6).
The man, brandishing a knife in front of the store's staff, demanded money from the tills.
He then made off with the cash in the direction of The Cliffs/Nether Court area.
Nobody was hurt in the incident, a police spokesperson said, but staff were "understandably shaken".
The incident happened at around 6.40am in the Greenmeadow area of Cwmbran.
Police say the man was white, around 5ft 10in and of slim build.
He was wearing a dark coloured hoodie, dark coloured tracksuit bottoms with white stripes halfway up the leg, and black trainers with white soles.
Police are asking anyone who may have information to call 101 quoting log 78 6/7/18
