A THUG who bit off another man’s year in an early morning attack on Newport’s Cambrian Road has had his sentence adjourned.
Andrew McNamee, 34, of Lliswerry Park Drive, Newport, was convicted after a trial of causing Paul Jenkins of unlawful wounding.
A jury cleared him of the more serious charge of unlawful wounding with intent.
McNamee had denied the charges and claimed he had acted in self-defence on Sunday, September 3, 2017.
He had been due to be sentenced for the offence but Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke adjourned sentence at Cardiff Crown Court.
McNamee was represented by his barrister Harry Baker and the prosecutor in the case was Steven Donoghue.
The defendant was remanded in custody and no application for bail was made.
