SPEECH: Cllr Debbie Wilcox is leader of Newport City Council
THE leader of Newport City Council is set to be an opening speaker at the Women's Conference tomorrow.
The Labour Party's annual Women's Conference is said to be "one of the largest and most high profile political events in Europe".
The purpose of it is to shape "Labour's vision".
Cllr Wilcox will be a speaker and she tweeted of her delight, saying: "Honoured and delighted to be an opening speaker at the Women’s Conference on Saturday in Liverpool - looking forward to telling delegates why it’s important that women are fully represented at all levels in our party."
