IT is probably too short a spell to qualify just yet as an Indian summer, but Gwent can look forward to a continuation of this week's sunny weather for two more days at least - and there is more to come next week, say forecasters.
According to the Met Office, the sun is set to shine and dawn until dusk across south Wales tomorrow and Thursday, with daytime temperatures reaching 18-19C.
It is then set to become progressively cloudy from Friday, and there will be a corresponding fall in temperatures, though 14-15C is expected to be the top daytime temperature through to next Monday.
The current sunny spell comes as a welcome relief after a soggy end to last week, and more sun is forecast for the first 10 days or so of October, before the weather becomes more changeable.
A constant companion to the sunny days however, is chillier a feel to the nights.
Nighttime temperatures will regularly dip comfortably into single figures.
The Met Office is also forecasting a greater chance of spells of wet and windy weather from mid-October onwards.
