A GROUP of youngsters have presented The Sparkle Appeal, based in the Serennu Centre in Rogerstone, with the proceeds of their charity hike.
On September 8, Shaftesbury Youf Gang battled the elements in a charity climb of Pen-Y-Fan in the Brecon Beacons, raising £850.
A ceremony took place on Saturday, hosted by Sara Filer, where the gang presented the money, with centre staff and children attending.
They were given a guided tour of the facility, and joined by Mr Warren Champman, and Mrs Ceri Davis and her daughter Elle, who also took part in the challenge, which was led by Mr Mark Iggulden.
Gang co-ordinator, Richy Davies, said: "We were thrilled to be able to raise £850 for the centre, which was presented to them by our youngest hikers, Lewis Greenhaf aged 11, Charlie Young aged 13, and Elle Davis aged 11.
"The visit was enjoyed by all the gang and is a fabulous facility providing wonderful support and services to more than 370 children every week."
