A DRUG dealer has been jailed for more than three years after he admitted possessing heroin with intent to supply in Newport.
Shujer Hussain, 37, of no fixed abode, was given a 40-month prison term by Judge R P Rowlands at Cardiff Crown Court after he pleaded guilty to the charge.
The case was prosecuted by Julian Greenwood and the defendant was represented by Paul Hewitt who said in mitigation that his client had admitted the offence.
Outside the court, Gwent Police's DC Reed said: "We hope this conviction sends out yet another message to anyone in Gwent engaging in this kind of criminal activity.
“We will not tolerate it and will pursue offenders until they face justice."
