ONE person was taken to hospital following a crash on the Prince of Wales Bridge this morning (October 15).

The incident, involving a car and a lorry, happened at approximately 6.30am.

A Gwent Police spokeswoman confirmed one person was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

All lanes on the eastbound carriageway were re-opened by 8am, but traffic remained heavy and slow-moving on the approach to the bridge.

There were severe delays, too, on the M4 eastbound between J32 (Coryton) and J28 (Tredegar Park), and near J24.

On the M4 westbound, traffic was moving slowly between J24 (Coldra) and J26 (Malpas Road).
