Last week's of the Ebbw Bridge on Cardiff Road captured the interest of followers on the Newport Past Pictures Facebook page. Last week’s replies:
Mark Powis said: "Ebbw bridge near junction 28 restaurant."
Mike Schofield said: "Old photo, Ebbw Bridge."
Helen Rowles said: "Definitely Ebbw Bridge near Maesglas."
Ian Clarke said: "Just upstream was the platform where the baptisms used to take place"
Dafydd Powell said: "I feel the design of the bridge is all wrong and you would be lucky to get 50 motorists travelling over each day, as it is a dead end only servicing Forge Mews. This bridge was opened in 1926 and the bridge it replaced was single track. The "Now and Then" bridge featured, I believe no longer exist, unless you are a time traveller, as it was remodelled and widened, also in 1926. There is a painting showing a baptisms on this stretch of river taking place."
