FOLLOWING the success of last year, a festival protesting hate crime is all set to return.

Crush Hate Crime 2018, hosted by Reality Theatre, will be at Warehouse 54, on Cambrian Road, from 12.45pm on this Saturday.

One of the bands, They Live We Sleep, had to pull out due to reasons beyond their control, but there is still a strong line-up of ten punk and hardcore bands and performers.

Reality Theatre's musical director, Joe Wag, explained: "This is a festival against hate crime, which we started last year.

"We've had high demand from punters and victims to make the festival an annual event, so we're working on growing it.

"Although any genre can perform, we've found that a lot of these punk and hardcore bands are very passionate about the issue of hate crime, and it's often them reaching out.

"Lots of bands and organisations talk about the issue, but it often feels like nobody's doing anything about it. Crush Hate Crime 2018 aims to change attitudes, support victims and show that we're not scared."

Doors open at 12.45pm, with Hippodrone kicking off the action at 1.15pm, followed by Burnout performing from 2pm, then Drunken playing at 14.45.

The evening will then feature Hunger Strike from 4.15pm, Disorder from 4.50pm, Dead Hands from 5.35pm, and Pizzatramp from 6.20pm.

Grove Street will perform from 7.20pm, with headliners Discharge starting at 8.40pm. The event will finish around 10pm.

Tickets for Crush Hate Crime 2018 are available on Eventbrite for £18, which includes the booking fee.
