RSPCA CYMRU is appealing for information after a young sphynx cat was found in Newport.

The young Tortoiseshell-coloured cat - aged around three months - was found at Benson Avenue, Rogerstone, with the caller telling the charity she had concerns for the animal's welfare.

The charity's animal collection officer Stephanie Davidson said: “We’re appealing for information to see if she has an owner out there. Sphynx cats are usually owned, but unfortunately she isn’t microchipped so we don’t know where she has come from. She may well have a worried owner out there looking for her.

“She has a really nice temperament and is a lovely little cat. She does appear to have a flea allergy which looks to be causing some skin problems, but some treatment will help with this.”

If an owner is not found, she will be made available for rehoming.

RSPCA Cymru would like to remind pet owners to microchip their animals to ensure if become lost they can be returned.

If anyone has any information, can they contact the RSPCA on 0300 123 8018.
