AN INTERACTIVE haunted maze will be open for one night only.
On October 27, Caerphilly Castle will open its doors after dark, with guests braving the new Gilbert's Maze, transformed into a labyrinth.
It will feature ghostly medieval characters, played by actors from re-enactment society, BOARS. The Dragons’ Lair, at the base of the leaning tower, will be open, offering a special night-time rendition of the beasts’ epic tale.
Tickets for the sessions, at 5.30pm, 6.30pm and 7.30pm, are £5. They must be pre-booked on Eventbrite, or by phoning: 02920 883 134.
Caerphilly Castle will also be hosting spooktacular fun, on October 27 and 28, with a range of crafts and spooky games taking place between 11am and 4pm. Enjoy a day including pumpkin carving, apple bobbing, a child friendly witch-hunt trail, and trying your hand at medieval ghost busting.
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Sport, Lord Elis-Thomas, said: "It's fantastic that we can transform existing on-site interpretation, such as the recently launched Gilbert’s Maze, into seasonal activities for all the family, helping encourage our younger visitors to discover and explore Wales’s historic monuments.!
