VIC McStay, who runs Alway Boxing club, would like to clarify that the club is not under threat of closure.
Every year the club runs a series of fundraising events to help subsidise the club's funds, as well as the money raised from members contributions.
A charity concert is due to take place on Saturday, October 6 at Newport Leisure Centre, where Newport-based Take That tribute act Take On That will be performing.
