LITTLE MILL WI: The September meeting was held at Little Mill Village Hall, and president Mandy Whiteside introduced the speaker, Mr Dave Barter, who took us on a spectacular journey to Newfoundland, where his father was born.
Mr Barter had slides of his holiday, showing the natural, unspoilt beauty of the land. It was also a great opportunity to visit many relatives living in Newfoundland.
This month's competition was won by Lyn Griffin.
Everyone agreed that our skittle evening was a great success, and plans are afoot to organise another.
In the next few weeks, members will be busy knitting and sewing squares to support a fundraising event for Ty Hafen Children's Hospice.
Little Mill WI holds its meetings on the second Thursday of the month, at 7.30pm, at the Village Hall. New members are always welcome.
Next month's meeting will be a demonstration and workshop on Eastern dancing.
