A NEWPORT mum is about to embark on her tenth half-marathon and this time she will be accompanied by her daughter - who will be running her first.
Lesley Parrat and daughter Hannah Parrat are entering the Great North Run this Sunday in order to raise money for Children with Leukaemia.
In previous years, Mrs Parrat has run the course dressed as Scooby Doo and Little Miss Naughty, but does not have a costume confirmed for this year's run.
As well as entering the race, Mrs Parrat has also held a raffle at Gaer Infant School where she works as a classroom assistant.
"It should be a good day, I like the children to see that running is good for you, it's a good atmosphere," said Mrs Parrat.
