I could have danced all night! The gig at the riverfront on tuesday was storming!

I also have a challenge for Newport - more at the base of the Blog.

In front of a distinguished assembly of guests, including the Mayor and a sexy blonde MP, I climbed ontothe main riverfront stage for the very first time. It was the awards evening for Urban Circle youth project. I did a great 10 mins and loved the experience all most as much as my audience (What a big head?! - Well, if I wasn't, I couldn't do it!) I cant wait until I play that stage again, it was a real buzz.

The mayor was decked out in all his finery and within a city whose inhabitants loves their gold jewellery, he is clearly The King of Bling. When I metthe mayor several months ago, I was not sure if he was even half as good as his predecessor, Miqdad Al-Nuaimi, who is a tough act to follow. However, after chatting to him and hearing his brief speech, he does actually seem quite a sound bloke.... so nowits official, he is OK.

The evening went really well and it was fantastic to celebrate all that Urban Circle has achieved so far. If you haven't yet come across them, get onto their web site (www.urbancircle.co.uk)and check them out. This is a truly genuine & noble cause in a world full of conmen and sceptics. They are very keen to sell tickets to the Welsh Open Bboy Championships 2007. They have achieved so much running and attracting this spectacular to Newport and now they need support to make sure it can at least cover its basic costs. So even if you don't fancy attending a fabulous spectacle of loads of young people dancing in the most energetic and gravity defying way, to some really cool music, BUY A TICKET ANYWAY.

It is crucial that this organisation is supported. They are benefitting the lives of all of us in Newport through the support and mentorship they are giving. If you only give to worthwhile causes, if you are cynical about 'charity' throw away that doubt right now and take the plunge.... you know you want to. (www.bboywales.com) Tonight is the Larfalot Comedy night in Le Pub. I am hoping we can keep this not for profit evening alive. It is a great platform for people to explore their comedy inner self and many people have been on the stage in Le Pub who have never ever done it before. Some of the people have gone on to do many more gigs elsewhere and are on their way to a new career in funnyness. Its a fun and inexpensive night out and the beer prices aren't at the rip-off level that they are in many other Newport pubs.

Challenge; I think I am the only resident Comedian in Newport. Now by that, I do not mean I am the only person who can tell a joke, I mean the only person who is getting paid to tell jokes. I would love to be proved wrong, can anyone provide information leading to the identification and locationof suspected professional 'people of the funny' within our city limits? I am the first to admit that I am not the funniest person in Newport, I am just brave enough to do my funnies in front of an audience and get paid for it. There are a couple of famous Comics who were born in Newport and have returned now and then to perform, but are there any who actually live here?????

In one way, I am hoping that you do not find anyone. That would mean I am the funnies Comic in the City. I could get a t-shirt and a badge printed declaring my glory. However, I am a little lonely and would like a friend, a brother or sister to stand side by side with ina battle of the funnybones.
