NEWPORT Playgoers Society will debut their latest production, at Dolman Theatre, soon.
Sue Burgess is directing the theatrical performance, which is based on Laurie Lee's book, Cider with Rosie.
Ms Burgess has recently returned to Newport, following on from 10 years living in Spain.
She has been back for six months, so was pleasantly surprised to be asked to direct Cider With Rosie for Newport Playgoers Society.
Whilst in Spain, Ms Burgess directed several musicals and realised what theatre facilities people often take for granted.
Dolman Theatre, unlike many theatres in Spain, has fly towers, plenty of space at the side of the stage, and rehearsal facilities.
Ms Burgess said "It has been a challenge to direct Cider With Rosie, but I have been greatly helped along the way by my talented cast, one of whom is my son, David.
"One of the reasons for moving back was family, although Iām not sure David thought being directed by his mum would be part of the bargain.ā
Cider With Rosie runs from November 13 until November 17.
