METAL machines and hearts of gold - bikers and rockers are revving up for this year's spectacular Hoggin' the Bridge event.

Thousands of Harley-Davidsons are once again expected to roar over the Old Severn Bridge on October 21.

Leaving Old Severn Bridge services at 11am, the huge convoy will head for Chepstow town centre where entertainment will be provided by an up-and-coming local rock band, Back Alley Sally.

The young four-piece group triumphed in the Welsh final of the Emergenza International Battle of the Bands in July.

Last year's event, organised by Bridgewater HOGS (Harley-Davidson Owners Group) and Chepstow Marketing attracted 3000 Harley-Davidsons.

As they roared over the old Severn Bridge, the spectacle roared over the old Severn Bridge to raise money for good causes including Newport-based St Anne's Hospice.
