POLICE are on the hunt for a hit-and-run Range Rover driver who allegedly knocked two cyclists off their bikes, leaving them with broken ribs, cuts and bruising.
It happened at Broadstone Common, Wentloog Road, Peterstone, at around 10.15am yesterday (Saturday, November 3).
The two female cyclists were lucky to escape with the injuries they did, and now police want to track down the driver.
A Gwent Police spokesman said: "Detectives would like to speak to the driver of a red Range Rover, which left the scene, following the collision.
"The vehicle is described as being old and towing a trailer. It was last seen heading towards Newport at approximately 10.20am.
"Anyone with information, including those with potential dash cam footage, are asked to please come forward and call 101 quoting log 164 of 3/11/18 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
