POLICE are trying to identify this man following a report of an assault on a cycle path in Caerleon, which runs from Pillmawr Road onto Cold Bath Road and around the Roman Reach estate.

On Friday September 7 at around 2.30pm, a man was cycling along the cycle path when a dog walker became verbally abusive and allegedly head butted the cyclist.

The cyclist, a 61-year-old man from the Newport area did not sustain any injuries.

Officers believe the man in this image, filmed on the cyclist's GO Pro camera, may be able to help with inquiries.

He is described as being in his late 30s to early 40s, around 6ft tall, with a local Newport accent.

Anyone with information is asked to telephone Gwent Police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
