AN OPERATIC Society is presenting a tribute concert to celebrate Armistice Day and the Centenary of the end of World War I.

Newport Operatic Theatre will perform, at Dolman Theatre, on November 9, with the performance starting at 7.30pm.

The concert will primarily consist of songs from the World Wars, with the audience welcome to singalong. There will also be words and poems highlighting the cause and impact of conflicts.

The Finale will feature more modern music, which are still highly relevant, as tribute to casualties in more recent conflicts, such as the Falklands, Iraq, Bosnia and Afghanistan.

Naturally, a Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal stall will be at the performance.

Tickets for the event are £12, which includes cake and a hot drink during the interval.

You can book by phoning Chris Edmunds, on: 01633 891363, or you can book online, at: www.dolmantheatre.co.uk but a booking fee will be applied.

Past and current Armed Force members, and their families, can get discounted tickets for £10, but this can only be arranged via phone call.
