THE Post Office's new premises in Newport is nearing completion.
It was proposed in the summer to relocate the Post Office's current branch at 19 Sovereign Arcade in Newport’s Kingsway Centre, into the nearby vacant retail store at 174-176 Upper Dock Street.
The company said the new site would be run as part of a dedicated area alongside a convenience store.
Stuart Taylor, who is external relations manager for the Post Office, previously said: "If it does go ahead there will be extra hours and it will be open on a Sunday," he said.
"That is important because we had faced competition from businesses which were open seven days a week.
"This is the best way forward."
A photo has now emerged of items being taken into the proposed new site.
The Post Office has been contacted for comment.
